The Lord of the Rings/ The Hobbit

| These are some of my favorite movies. |
When asked what my favorite movie
is I always have to sit and contemplate about what movie I like best because I
can never decide. After some deep thought though, I would have to say my
favorite movie or movies in this case are the Lord of the Rings series and the
Hobbit movies that go with them. I have always liked these movies since they
came out, and the first movie came out quite a few years ago. When I decide on
what is a good movie or which is my favorite I always look at the formal
elements. These are elements that really define, at least in my opinion, what
makes or doesn’t make an entertaining movie.
The reason they are my favorite
movies is that I love science fiction movies because there is never a lack of
creativity or imagination. Anything is possible to happen, so the unexpected
twists are always an option to be thought of when watching. Another reason is
that these movies are constantly filled with action, there is never a dull
moment throughout the movies. Whether it’s the battle scenes or them travelling
across the vast landscapes, there is always something going on. That brings up
another point, I like when the movies have a really cool settings and the
backgrounds are just amazing. This series has really cool setting and it
changes and rotates throughout the movie. It will go from a forest, to
mountains, to open plains, no matter where they are it always catches my
attention. The length of the movie is really long but I like when movies do
that because then they can go into better detail and not be forced to leave
parts out and just hope that the audience assumes or catches on that something
happened. My final reason is that the acting is very good and all of the actors
fit their role very well. It looks like they belong and the parts fit them.
Some people may enjoy movies for different reasons than the point that I brought
up, but in my opinion that is why I personally like The Hobbit and Lord of the
Rings the best.
I am also a fan of action movies. I love how there is never a dull moment. The trick is finding an action movie with a good story behind it, and The Lord of the Ring definitely has that! You also brought up a good point about the landscapes. Wherever the scenes are taking place in the Lord of the Rings movies, the scenery is always breathtaking. My favorite location is the home of the elves. Rivendell I think?
