Journal 1: My Playlist, My Self

 My Playlist, My Self
Getting out early to go fishing.
If I had to make a playlist with songs that either had something to do with me or described me I would have to pick the following five songs, Pledge Allegiance to the Hag, Hank It, Chicken Fried, Livin’ Part of Life, and Doin’ Time. These songs all are important to me in different ways, but they all remind me of a time or something that happened. Hank It was our warm-up song all through high school for my football team, Chicken Fried is one of my dad’s favorite songs, Livin’ Part of Life reminds me of myself because I always just go fishing whenever I need to relax, and the other two songs are just memories that I had with friends and they have become some of my favorite songs.

I don’t remember where I heard any of these songs for the first time; I just know that once I did I kept listening to them. I think that this playlist says that I like to relax and just have a good time. Also that I just take life as it goes along and don’t ever really plan for anything, basically whatever happens, happens. There is not much people would learn from my playlist because I think that the people have to meet me first in order to understand the songs. I mean they might be able to learn something such as I like country music or that I am a laid back person. There are a lot of things that people would not be able to learn about me, like where I come from, what kind of person I am, hobbies and interests, and many other things. There are many assumptions that people could make about me; for instance, I only listen to country music even though all the songs aren’t country, which is false, I listen to all music. Other true assumptions are that I love being outdoors and just relaxing. Also like I said earlier, just having a good time. I don’t know any false assumptions that could be made, that would depend on the person and their opinion on the music and how they think.

  1. I agree with you that people would have to meet you first in order to get to know you. I unfortunately would have assumed that you would like country music, but that just proves that people can't learn much from only your playlist. I also agree that there are a lot of things that people just cannot learn from a playlist.

  2. I also like country songs. I think that they are the easiest to relate to and each song tells a story or teaches a lesson. I also listen to other music besides country, but country has to be my favorite genre. I think its great that you can take a step back and enjoy the outdoors in our increasingly technological world.
